About the MultiSession Emulator Client

The WebSession™ 8 Emulator Client is a full-featured terminal emulator that supports multiple 3278 and ASCII Telnet terminal sessions in a single window. The emulator is based upon the WebSession Software Development Kit, Version 8, as shown below.

Licensing

Unless you have purchased a WebSession site license, you must install the I/O Concepts WebSession License Server before you can use the WebSession API or the WebSession Client. The License Server can be installed from a seperate installer included in the install CD or install package.

Configuration

The emulator saves its configuration information in a single XML that is stored in the WebSession directory under your home directory. The first time you run the emulator it creates this configuration file, called wsconfig8.xml, and populates it with default configuration information.

Use the emulator's Edit menu to open four dialogs that allow you to customize your emulator configuration.

Getting Started

The first time you run the Emulator you need to configure one or more host systems. Refer to Configuring Host Sessions to find out how to do this.
