Message from the President

Welcome to 2006 ! The year ahead looks very promising as we chart a course to work closely with our customers to meet their computing needs. As we look back on 2005, I want to thank our loyal customers for choosing I/O Concepts to help them reduce costs and increase operational efficiency. We have been working hard with our customers to ensure our products add significant value to their organizations. Moving forward in 2006, we have a number of products and services coming that will continue our traditions of providing cost efficacy, superior ease of use and extreme flexibility. Our new support for iSeries, HP3000, and Unix/Linux in the Enterprise Management System, plus a new licensing model for TN3270 emulation are just some examples of how we will lead the industry in innovation for customer cost reduction. This is an exciting time for I/O Concepts and the future looks brighter than ever!

Engineering Update

The newly expanded Engineering and QA department has been very busy lately! We are currently putting the finishing touches on main components of the Enterprise Management System. Coming out in Q1 2006 are SmartClient 3.3.3 and Console Consolidation System (CCS) 5.1.2. There are bug fixes to enhance stability and new code to update the Fault Tolerant capabilities of the solution. Also, customers requested that we enable the SmartClient Viewer to connect to multiple SmartClient servers, so we responded to the request by quickly adding that functionality to the latest SmartClient Viewer. If you need these updates quickly, please call I/O Concepts technical support at 425 450 0650.

Customer Appreciation

I/O Concepts likes to show our appreciation for our customers. The 2005 Customer Appreciation Fishing Expedition was a big success in deep blue water! We caught a lot of Pacific Northwest Salmon, had beautiful scenery, even some sunshine and a great time. For 2006, our plan is to have the event be even bigger and better. Scheduled dates are August 25th and 26 th, 2006.  If you would like more information on how to participate, please email sales@ioconcepts.com

What's New !?
There are many exciting enhancements to the Enterprise Management System. The latest is support for IBM AS/400 and iSeries. This new addition makes EMS even more valuable to those organizations that have iSeries and mainframes and want to manage them from a single, shareable console.
Also, the latest release of WebSession is in the wings. This version is completely written in Java and includes a TN3270e emulation applet that runs in a browser, a desktop-resident TN3270e emulator, a 3270-to-HTML Servlet, and of course, the API Development Kit. Stay tuned for cost saving announcements around a completely revolutionary licensing model for client and server TN3270 emulation software! If you need to save money around your emulation products now, for more information under NDA, please email Rick Guerra for a confidential introduction to the new licensing.

On the personnel front, our growth has precipitated some changes and additions to the Executive committee. Scott Schulz has been promoted to Vice President of Engineering and will be leading the Engineering and QA teams through our ongoing growth phase, and Bill Bohnenberger is now the Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer to guide the company’s strategy into the future.

TIPS AND TRICKS
We have seen a trend recently where customers are losing connectivity to their Console Consolidation Servers after installing Windows XP SP2.  This is the result of the Windows Firewall being enabled and can easily be solved by either disabling the Windows Firewall or configuring it to allow connectivity on the ports used for connection to the Console Consolidation Server.

Tired of maintaining passwords in multiple locations?  The I/O Concepts Enterprise Management System suite of products can be easily integrated into your single sign-on architecture using LDAP, RACF, ACF2 or Active Directory.  Chat with one of our support representatives about simplifying your password management.

We will be hosting local customer site visits to view a large I/O Concepts implementation, providing fantastic giveaways and hosting test drive systems with a prize for simply sitting down in the booth and trying our products! So, stop by our booth for a chance to win one of the prizes, check out our latest product offerings, sign-up for a customer site visit, or, just to say hello. If you would like more information on the customer site visit, or to register, please email sales@ioconcepts.com .

I/O Concepts National Users Conference
I/O Concepts has a rapidly growing product set and a corresponding customer base that is increasingly more diverse. As we grow, it is important that we stay close to our customers and continue to meet their needs. With that goal in mind, we are initiating an I/O Concepts National User Conference. We are in the process of electing officers for the conference and establishing regional user groups. The User Conference will be a great way to provide I/O Concepts with your product feedback and to meet other I/O Concepts customers to discuss your installation to get the most value from your investment in our products. The Spring newsletter will have more information including registration information. If you would like to be involved in the Conference, please email sales@ioconcepts.com
