ioEnterprise Event Manager provides a consolidated event view of events from your mainframe and midrange systems, as well as other computing and device platforms, from a single graphical interface. Mainframe console messages, midrange (iSeries) events, UNIX and Linux messages, and PC Event Manager events can be displayed. With customizable event filters, critical and highlighted events are displayed and low-level events are suppressed. ioEnterprise Event Manager allows events to be easily categorized, organized, prioritized and assigned so that events can be quickly remedied, reducing down time and maximizing efficiency.

ioEnterprise Event Manager consolidates messages from multiple mainframes and LPARs, midrange servers, and other intelligent devices into a single window so IT data center operators can:

The ioEnterprise interface allows events to be organized easily by event type, source, criticality, date/time, etc. and you can customize views for different user groups. Events may be assigned to specific staff members or groups, allowing quick distribution of events to the people best equipped to deal with the problem. You can also associate notes with events as they are assigned or resolved. Users acknowledge event assignments so managers have instant feedback on which events are outstanding, assigned, and in-progress. As events are received by ioEnterprise, critical events can immediately trigger emails, text messages, pages, or even automated actions.

NOTIFICATION & PRIORITIZATION: ioEnterprise Event Manager includes tools to notify staff to critical events, organize events, and minimize resolution time. As events are received by ioEnterprise Event Manager, critical events can trigger emails, text messages, or pages to critical staff members. Also, if an event remains unresolved, the criticality of the event may be escalated or notification messages can be sent.

FILTERS: Filters in ioEnterprise Event Manager allow events to be easily organized. Filters can be assigned to individuals or groups allowing customization of the view for each staff members. For example, a mainframe operator may filter out UNIX messages, and iSeries operators may filter out mainframe messages.

ENRICHMENT: As staff members work an issue, they can keep progress notes which are then attached to the event. This gives other staff members and managers up to date information on the status of each event. Context sensitive help and knowledge base information can be attached to events giving staff easy access to information which can help minimize incident time and aid problem resolution. Help can be attached to messages based on the text of the message, the host producing the message, the message id, or a combination of these elements.

If a system or network device can be reached by a terminal connection, or if a device uses standard network protocols like SNMP as their primary management mechanism, it can be managed by ioEnterprise.
