Key FeaturesConsole Consolidation & SecurityThe ioEnterprise Console Consolidation & Security (CCS) system from I/O Concepts provides secure access from end-user workstations to local and remote mainframe console sessions. ioEnterprise CCS secures mainframe consoles, allows unprecedented access and sharing of console sessions across networks, and provides better controls for monitoring your mainframe consoles.
Access and Share Console Sessions from Desktop WorkstationsioEnterprise CCS provides secure console access via standard console connectivity hardware, including all OSA-ICC and ESCON controllers, allowing you to move mainframe consoles from dumb terminals to Microsoft Windows, Linux, and UNIX workstations. ioEnterprise CCS connects using standard protocols so no modifications are needed to existing hardware, and no changes are required to mainframe console definitions. ioEnterprise CCS is installed on the network with the mainframe, and connects to existing console sessions. ioEnterprise CCS allows multiple operators to access and work in consoles simultaneously. The ioEnterprise CCS “buffered input mode” stores each user’s keystrokes until the user presses Enter or another AID key. The keystrokes are then sent to the console session. This allows different end users, like a mainframe operator and a system programmer, to access the same console to accomplish their tasks. Session sharing also allows users to collaborate on issues by working in the same console session.
Comprehensive Security and Control of Console AccessioEnterprise CCS provides security to connections that would otherwise be open to the network. Users are authenticated before being granted access to console sessions. Authentication can take place in an onboard authentication server or standard repositories like LDAP, Active Directory, and RACF may be used. Once connected to a console, console images are delivered based on security policies. This allows proactive measures to be used to minimize and mitigate the danger of malicious or accidental access on production systems.
Monitor and Manage Events from ioEnterprise CCSioEnterprise CCS viewers provide the access to console data. This allows you to manage all your events with one interface—from monitoring events from consoles to accessing and manipulating those systems directly from your ioEnterprise CCS workstation. ioEnterprise CCS viewers are built with Java and can be installed on individual user workstations or accessed via a web page without installing software on user PCs. Most popular TN3270E clients can also be used to access ioEnterprise CCS, including clients from Attachmate, IBM, and Hummingbird. Get More Viewer Functionality with ioEnterprise CCS+The ioEnterprise CCS+ viewer provides an enhanced workbench for working with events. All console messages are consolidated into one viewer (displayed in native console format) and operators can scroll back through console messages and search for specific events. ioEnterprise CCS+ also receives NIP console messages after an IPL. Combined with the message scroll-back feature, this capability allows issues with a failed IPL to be quickly diagnosed, saving hours of downtime.
