ioEnterprise Audit Manager captures and stores valuable audit and tracking information about mainframe user access and interaction. This record serves to help organizations meet the requirements for regulatory compliance, but it also provides a valuable internal history that gives you complete visibility into the management (or mismanagement) of your systems.

Audit Trails for Accountability and Protection

Audit trails track all user interactions with host systems. Logins, Logouts, and all commands entered by users are tracked by the ioEnterprise Audit Manager and managed in a data store. This provides a complete record of who does what, when, and from where, what commands individuals are entering, and more.

More comprehensive than the security information already being gathered on the mainframe, ioEnterprise Audit Manager displays the user’s IP address or PC name with each command in the log, telling you where the user is coming in from, in addition to the date, time, user name, command, session (console) accessed, command text, and whether this command was allowed or suppressed by ioEnterprise CCS command suppression. So, not only are selected commands blocked, ioEnterprise Audit Manager also records each instance a suppressed command is entered and rejected.

Internally, audit information can provide data on user workloads and gives you the ability to troubleshoot the root causes of service issues when related to human actions. It can also act as forensic evidence of malicious activity in the event of a security breach, and protects the integrity of trustworthy professionals by documenting responsible actions.

PCI, SOX, Cobit, and HIPAA rules require accurate details of user interactions with host systems. ioEnterprise Audit Manager maintains audit trails for all activities to address these regulations—every message that the systems generate and user activities, including a record of every command issued by anyone in ioEnterprise (plus suppressed commands).

Data Reporting Capabilities

The ioEnterprise Audit Manager report generation capabilities give you on-the-fly audit reports from the data store that are immediately accessible for analysis using the reporting tool of your choice (no proprietary reporting software required). The reports can include data for system security, data integrity, data security and system reliability, and can be generated from your workstation or through any web browser.
