Enterprise Management System for System i

The EMS/System i is a member of the I/O Concepts Enterprise Management System and is a comprehensive System i event-monitoring solution. It provides configurable services to capture and process all system, application and user-definable messages generated from events that occur on the iSeries/i5. EMS/SCi5 can be configured to handle each event either automatically on the local iSeries/i5 or by providing robust message delivery to the EMS 1000 Controller or the EMS Viewer.The EMS/System i is comprised of several components.

The EMS/System i can be used in conjunction with an existing I/O Concepts EMS implementation, or it can be a standalone solution.

EMS/System i Agent

The Agent is the core of the EMS/System i solution and resides on the iSeries/i5 LPAR running OS/400. It captures/ forwards configured events to the EMS 1000 Controller, or to the Smart Client Viewer. The Agent can also provide local event response automation where required. The Agent supports monitors that enable additional system software and hardware monitoring e.g. Disk, queues, communications, and so on.
